RENEWAL COURSE | DC + MD COMBO! Permit Recertification Course

 

This two-part course meets the firearms training eligibility requirements to renew the District of Columbia Concealed Pistol License AND Maryland Wear and Carry Permit.

 

Part 1 – In-Person Training:  9:00am - 3:00pm
Exact class location will be released to registered students only.

Objectives:

- District of Columbia laws on firearms and self-defense
- Home firearm safety
- Handgun operation
- Concealed carry fundamentals
- Maryland laws on firearms and self-defense
- Live-fire gun safety and proficiency with a minimum score of 70% accuracy.

Part 2 – Range Qualification
You will receive a link to schedule your 1-on-1 range qualification for a convenient day and time after registration.

Range Location: Maryland Small Arms, Upper Marlboro, MD

 

Upon successful completion of this course, student will receive:
1 – District of Columbia Concealed Carry Pistol License Course Renewal Certificate
2 – Maryland MSP 29-14 Certified Qualification Renewal Score Sheet

 

DMV CARRY's DC + MD COMBO! Permit Recertification Course is conducted by District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department CCW-Certified Instructors and Maryland Qualified Handgun Instructors.

District of Columbia Concealed Pistol License must be renewed every two years.

Unless exempt, renewal applicants must complete a 4-hour firearm safety training that includes District of Columbia Specific Laws on Firearms & Self-Defense and range qualification within the previous twelve months of submitted their renewal application.

Your DC CPL renewal application and payment may be submitted online via the DC MPD e-Commerce Portal.

Initial Maryland Wear and Carry Permits expire the last day of the permit holder’s birth month following two (2) years after the date the permit is issued, three (3) years each subsequent renewal.

The Maryland Wear and Carry Permit renewal process should be started no less than 90-days from expiration of the permit through the MD State Police Licensing Portal:  https://licensingportal.mdsp.maryland.gov/MspBridgeClient/#/home

Unless exempt, you must complete an 8-hour firearms training course within two years of submitting your renewal application.

Renewal applications not received by the expiration date, must begin as a new applicant and complete all requirements necessary for an initial application.

PLEASE NOTE: There will be NO LIVE AMMUNITION allowed during the classroom portion of training.

Please bring your carry firearm for range qualification.  You will need 50+ rounds of ammunition for qualification.

You must be legally able to possess a firearm with valid government photo ID to attend this course.

State application fees are not included in class price.

This is a renewal course for active permit holders.
